‘Not altogether sure we’ve featured all too many mashups per se on this particular plot of interweb real estate although this from Alfred Darlington, aka Daedelus is too bittersweet; too beautiful to not hurl out there. A cross-pollination of the overriding melancholia of The Cardigans’ Rise and Shine and the gated strings of DJ Trouble’s Bangs & Works it may just be down to us still coming down off Sónar and Darlington’s set over there but this sprightly meddling in the musics of others feels tinged with a nostalgic yearning. And that may just as well be for sun, sand, Estrella Damm etc.’
