If the Charmes contained within Renart’s latest Cracki Records EP may be branded Petits within its self-effacing moniker then in reality they’re sprawling, if understated chef-d’œuvres of the house genre notoriously favoured by his patrie. Pulsating yet never pounding, the Frenchman proffers a succinct lesson in restraint whilst simultaneously retaining every ounce of electronica-spurting emotivity. Featuring way out fuck-knows-where vocal interjections and a spot of reverb-laden bongo, it’s energetic house-y hybridisation worth shacking up inside and inhabiting for the foreseeable, or at least ‘til the Olympics blow over…
